![]() However, the tinkerer side of me occasionally asks the practical side: "What if?".and that's where the parts-o-caster comes in for me. If I'm seeking a good Strat I prefer to "run the racks" to know what I'm getting. If I was looking for quality I wouldn't go anywhere other than USA Custom Guitars. I'd buy from Warmoth if my deciding factor was price and price alone. For example "6105 wire" from Warmoth is a different size and shape from Dunlop 6105 wire, and that will really throw you if you're used to a specific fretwire feel.Ī couple of other things to consider that you may or may not care about: a genuine Fender body from reliablefender may come with a micro-tilt neck adjuster and the pickup cavity will be coated in RF-shielding paint (depending on the model of course). Another thing that really annoys me is their fretwire naming scheme - the Warmoth dimensions are different from the Dunlop industry standards. ![]() ![]() Very thick poly finish, and on the Warmoth Pro neck type the huge double-expanding truss rod makes the necks feel very heavy and sound like a big chunk of steel. My experience with (finished) Warmoth necks hasn't been great. Close, but to a Strat nerd the differences are there. I've got a partsocaster with a Warmoth body and when I put it next to one of my Fenders or pick it up to play it's noticeably different. ![]() As previously posted, the Warmoth body shape is not a genuine Strat shape.
